An idea I've had for years and harbouring and working on and falling in love with over and over again has just been destroyed. It wasn't anything important, or feasible, or possible, or possibly even that good, but it was something I adored and I'm really sad about it now.

I mean, after all, how many ideas are exactly original these days? I know that the huge idea I'm currently working on is certainly very similar to several thousand of my own favourite books and movies (which gives you one up on me, since your idea was not actually even nicked from elsewhere...). And from what I can tell from what you've told me, it's a really fabulous idea and one which could certainly stand up to more than one interpreation! Seriously - don't be disheartened. I would just love to hear more about how you had been intending to approach the subject matter, so if you ever felt like sharing, I would be more than willing to lend an ear.

I think a lot of people do, but I like it because it kind of works as a jumping off point, ya know? I'm sure the vast majority of my stuff could be traced back to something I watched or read. And eventually, of course, everything anyone makes will all have a vague similarity to each other, haha.
