I just realized another fandom pet peeve after reading a fanfic that *yet again* features one of the characters tearing open a condom with their teeth. I know movies and such do it too, but it is rampant in fanfic; in fact, I don't think I've ever come across one where they didn't do that if a condom is involved. One of the things they taught in sex ed in freshman year is that you don't rip it open with your teeth cause that rips the condom or pokes a hole in it, thus negating the entire point of the condom. I mean, it's great that they think to add the condom in there in the first place but they're still off by a bit.
