You guys might remember our yearly tradition of giving books to my cousins every Christmas, well I'm looking for some more ideas if you guys got 'em. Basically whatever you think would work, unless it's something that may get me in trouble with my aunts and uncles, haha. The giftees include:

The oldest girl, med student, incredible writer, sophomore in college. Good books from the past include the Fables graphic novels, the Georgia Nicholson books.

The second oldest girl, high school senior, incredible actress and singer (seriously she sounds like Judy Garland). Good books from the past include Water for Elephants, Fables.

The oldest boy, high school junior, very very smart, but stuck with shitty parents, not a huge reader. Good books included Hellboy, The Golden Compass.

Second oldest boy, high school freshman, I love him but he’s not the brightest, more interested in sports and girls, not really a reader at all. Good books include…??? No idea, I can’t say for certain he’s read any of the past ones.

The twin girls, 13, voracious readers, love animals, still pretty childlike. Good books included the Chronicles of Narnia, The Hunger Games, Eva Ibbotson.

Any ideas?

Sharon Creech and Elizabeth Laird might work for someone who liked Eva Ibbotson?

(Also, I could not find your Maurice post because I fail at tumblr.)

Ooh, thank you, I will definitely check those out!

These are all my Maurice posts (http://authormichals.tumblr.com/tagged/maurice), the last...few dozen are from yesterday, haha. It's just nonsense really, a few gifs and pictures and whatnot. If you can't see them still, then I guess you're just going to have to join Tumblr then! ;)

Yay, those are lovely! Much as I adore Maurice and Alec, I think my favourite scene of all is the reaching-for-each-other's-hands between Maurice and Clive. (I have an unfinished Sparrington lying around somewhere that was inspired by that scene.) Also, Maurice is like my anti-Brideshead Revisited, in that it makes me happy in all the ways that BH makes me want to tear my hair out.

I do have a tumblr (same name as my LJ) but I don't actually know how to use it.

Yeah, that is a really gorgeous scene, I totally need to do another Maurice Day to cover all the things I didn't get to on Sunday, I was kind of just posting whatever I cam across. Maurice is my anti-everything, I was using it as my anti-Boardwalk to cheer up. That's one reason I love that movie so much, one of those rare gay films with a happy ending that is lovable enough all around.

Yeah, I just followed you on Tumblr! Hi! Haha, I was seriously confused for the first, like, month after I joined Tumblr. It is drastically different from LJ, but you get the hang of it eventually, although not really 'cause I'm still doing dumb things haha.
